Introduction

CalCrunch Free and CalCrunch+ (collectively, “the App”), are developed and published by Banana Logic, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the App on your iOS or iPadOS device.

We designed CalCrunch to be privacy-first, with no account system and no server-side storage. Your personal data stays on your device unless you explicitly choose to sync it with Apple iCloud.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. Data We Collect

1.1 Data You Enter Manually

The App stores the following information locally on your device:

  • Foods you log
  • Favorite foods
  • Custom recipes
  • Custom foods and supplements
  • Daily calorie and macro goals
  • Weight entries
  • Notes associated with meals

This information is never sent to Banana Logic, LLC.

We do not have access to it.

1.2 Apple HealthKit Data (Optional)

If you grant permission, the App may read or write the following Health data:

  • Body weight
  • Dietary energy consumed
  • Macronutrient data
  • Other nutrition-related metrics

HealthKit Privacy Requirements

  • Health data never leaves your device.
  • HealthKit data is not used for advertising, marketing, or analytics.
  • HealthKit data is not shared with any third parties.
  • You may revoke access at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

2. Data Collected Automatically

2.1 CalCrunch Free (Ad-Supported Version Only)

The free version uses Google AdMob to show advertisements.

AdMob may collect:

  • Device identifiers (IDFA)
  • Approximate location
  • Interaction with ads
  • Crash data
  • Basic usage data

Important

  • Ads are never shown in CalCrunch+ (Paid).
  • The paid version does not include the AdMob SDK.
  • No advertising data is collected in the paid version.

You may revoke advertising tracking permissions in

Settings → Privacy → Tracking.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or store:

  • Names or email addresses
  • Login information
  • Birthdates
  • Payment methods
  • Home addresses
  • IP addresses
  • Server-side analytics
  • Biometrics other than manually entered weight (stored locally only)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party.

4. How Your Data Is Stored

All personal data is stored:

  • Locally on your device, encrypted by iOS

We do not run any servers or databases that store your personal information.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

If you believe we unintentionally collected data from a child, contact us immediately at support@banana-logic.com.

6. Your Rights

Because your data stays on your device, you are in full control. You may:

  • Delete entries at any time inside the App
  • Remove the App to erase all on-device data
  • Revoke Health permissions
  • Reset advertising identifiers (free version only)

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The “Last Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent changes.
